Our Transition Year students are making to most of the time back in school!
This week they showcased all of their successes in TY. It was amazing to see how much some of our students achieved even during lock down and on return to school! Thoes who got involved in all the organised activites benefited most from the year! All this dedication and effort will stand to them as they progress into Leaving Certificate and beyond.
Many of our Transition Year Students recieved certification for a number courses completed during lockdown. The last few weeks saw students attending SOAR workshops, careers talks, podcast production workshops, team building activities, garden gigs workshops, Virtual tours of a city farm and subject tasters for senior cycle.
This term the students enjoyed a trip to Lilliput Adventure Centre! The photos attached will show the fun they had! Even the teachers joined in the fun! It was wonderful to see the students happy and enjoying themselves!
The students have also completed workshops with the Community Guards, they have listened to a range of guest speakers on various topics !
This week will be busy, they will be connecting in with Sonairte, taking part in sporting activities, completing Treasure Hunts, engaging in workshops on plastics and the enviornment and some will be involved in the Pocketforest project!
Next week we will have the TY Graduation Ceremony. This will be a special formal affair for TY students organised with Covid restrictions in mind. It will be a time to reflect on the year and recognise the students achievements!
