School Leadership

Board of Management

In Bremore Educate Together Secondary School, the management process is open to all members of the school community. The Board of Management is responsible for the management of the school. It is appointed by the patron, and is made up of parent, teacher, patron and community nominees. Board of Management members are volunteers, and the school is very grateful for the contribution they make.

Principal

The school Principal provides dynamic, positive leadership, with students, teachers and parents being able to participate in policy planning. An important role of the Principal will be to keep the ethos and vision of the school visible, tangible and alive for everyone, so the ethos can be experienced by all members of and visitors to the school - as it will be the ‘natural outcome of what is actually happening within the school’ (Hogan 1984).

Teachers

We recruit enthusiastic, highly qualified and innovative teachers to help students realise their full academic and social potential. Using the national curriculum, teachers develop imaginative lessons that integrate subjects and make learning challenging, relevant and fun. Active, engaging teaching methods are used throughout the curriculum, and teachers place a strong emphasis on students developing skills in creative and critical thinking, communication, teamwork, research and leadership. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is used as a tool for learning across all subject areas.

Parents Council

Parental involvement and participation are key elements of the Educate Together ethos. Bremore ETSS aims to engage with parents on many levels, involving them in their children's learning and in decision-making in the school. As the Parents Council develops, it will become an important vehicle for ensuring that parents are meaningfully involved in decision-making in the school. The Council is just one element of our overall approach to student engagement, alongside other formal and informal structures and practices.

Students Council

Listening to the voices of the students in the school is central to the development of the Bremore Educate Together Secondary School core principles. As the Student Council develops, it will become an important vehicle for ensuring that students are meaningfully involved in decision-making in their school. The Council is just one element of our overall approach to student engagement, alongside other formal and informal structures and practices.
