Reminder of Online Summer Assessment Week and Format

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As previously communicated to you, next week students will be offered the opportunity to complete their end of year summer assessments. I am writing to you all today to outline the format of those assessments:

• Online Assessments will replace online classes next week Monday 11^th – Friday 15^th
• The format of assessments will vary depending on the subject area. Many teachers will set online tests, whilst others may ask students to submit completed pieces of work or a project. The tasks have been carefully designed to be accessible to all.
• Your child’s teachers have all given direction on what students need to do to prepare for these assessments.
• We are aware that during this time, each family’s circumstances are different so teachers will open the assessments on Monday morning, and they will not close until Friday afternoon. This ensures that each child has adequate time to complete their assessments regardless of their situation.
• Reasonable accommodations – students who usually have access to reasonable accommodations during exams have been carefully considered in the design of the assessments so that they would not be disadvantaged. Affected students have received an email regarding this aspect of the assessment.
• A reminder to third year parents/guardians that these assessments are a chance for your child to improve their final predicted grade, using this assessment as part of the final calculation.

We look forward to seeing as many students as possible engaged in this opportunity to have their work assessed and reported upon and we appreciate your support in this regard. If for some reason, your child is unable to engage in their assessments we would appreciate that you let us know. All students will receive an end of year Report on Vs ware towards the end of the year. This report will reflect both these online summer assessments and your child’s progress throughout the year.
